If delimitation bill must pass it should have uniform 50% increase in seats for all states.

It abandoned hindutva narrative it offer nothing new as living costs continue to raise and job market and rupee is under huge stress.

It would be wrong to think of the current protest as just a response to NEET/CBSE issue. These are the immediate triggers and very powerful ones. But I think it is an outcome of years of pent up frustration amongst youth boiling over.

On the one hand cost of even average quality education is high and keeps going up. On the other, more and more people are seeking a college education while supply of skilled or white collared jobs is simply not keeping pace. That is leading to serious level of angst amongst the youth about their future.

IOW, the acche din that Modi promised in 2014 has not been delivered to the youth yet. Beyond a point, no amount of shiny roads and airports or ports is going to keep them hopeful of a positive future if góod jobs arent forthcoming.

There are different kinds of frustration building up in other demographics as well. God forbid, it might all colaesce into a perfect storm if there is a major econonywide trigger (an energy crisis? two years of sub-5% growth with higher inflation?). No amount of election engineering can save BJP if that happens.

At any rate, as it stands today, Modi's brand image has taken a real battering and he will need to reinvent his politics to bounce back. I doubt he can do that at this ripe old age.
