Fresh from the lab 🍇🧬: https://t.co/BuwRfo1muq. We describe long-term conservation of haplotype-specific methylation patterns in clonal lineages, resolving mapping bias, collapsed haplotypes, and structural variation using a novel phased, graph-based approach.
A web-based tool developed by Cornell PhD student Hongrui Wang enables NY grape growers to select a weather station near them and any of 12 grape varieties to get a prediction of whether their vines may have experienced freeze damage. #graperesearch https://t.co/r9fDxrjcIQ

New preprint from the lab https://t.co/lD8p6YKHee describing the conservation of the grape sex determining region (SDR) across angiosperm genomes and detailed history within Vitaceae leading to dioecy in Vitis and Muscadinia. Collaboration with @shiversherlock
@ViticulturaUpna@Herrera_JC_ I tried to follow with translation, but we see something like this in NY as a result of mechanical damage from leaf pullers and shoot thinners. Damage from the vine hitting the trellis. Only on red cultivars though as you don’t get the leaf color on the whites.
Let’s celebrate innovation that nurtures our planet! This weekend at @mohistorymuseum, @ajmiller4233 is giving a @TEDxStouis talk on her work with perennials & sustainable agriculture. #InternationalDayofPlantHealth

.@CornellCALS@CornellAgriTech horticulture doctoral candidate Hongrui Wang developed a model that estimates the temperatures that cause freeze damage in a dozen grape cultivars. Read more from @CornellNews: https://t.co/wxpAFApoIN
Some cool winter research to share. We can't see much from the outside, but in collaboration with @JudithBoekee@CornellAgriTech, we are tracking variation in freeze response in apple trees. Video is of apoplastic freeze events in young trees. Be patient! #ColdHardiness 🍎❄️
It’s no secret that climate change is already impacting wine grape crop quality, production & sustainability. M.S./Ph.D. horticulture student @faithtwinamaani is researching how to adapt crops to grow under climate change-induced environmental stress. https://t.co/MqlcH3Kv5A
Enjoy an exciting 9 week #internship working on exciting science or business development projects that impact the New York state farm and food @CornellAgriTech this summer. Applications to apply for our program are due 1/22/24. https://t.co/DMKRynBKvH
Applications open for the 2024 Summer Scholar program! Interested undergrads please apply. Lots of cool projects and we love the new energy students bring to climate adaptation. https://t.co/gcEFmRwCHg
