@CeeKay_Aguayo@2v8AlKillersPlz@Sympstrafes@Brycetv1@shinibot Also, technically, the logic that prohibits RC filters also prohibits stick drift. We know for a fact that pro players were intentionally using drifting controllers and modifying settings to maximize stick drift in order to get a "budget" RC filter effect previously.
@CeeKay_Aguayo@2v8AlKillersPlz@Sympstrafes@Brycetv1@shinibot Basically, what is illegal is using software or hardware to enhance input (increase jitter from what it is natively). Every controller has to deal with jitter, and the vast majority of controllers use filters to reduce it. How good they are at this varies dramatically.
@OlexGameDev@valigo the reality is currently this only gets enforced in the enterprise space. i've bought hundreds of used microsoft licenses legally at work (from microsoft certified resellers even), but for consumers in most countries consumer protection agencies have to take action, which is slow
@OlexGameDev@valigo These types of EULA clauses are already illegal in most places, just not ever enforced.
Look into UsedSoft v Oracle, the EU's Software Directive and Digital Content Directive, etc
plus, under the Omnibus Directive, a seller using the term "Buy" confers ownership-like rights
@basedpotts@KenRhen never seen a durex baron power play before?
the banner says:
sustained combat capability! control the battlefield! (maybe in this context you'd translate it as "map", as in summoner's rift?)!
i think i've also seen "protect your baron" before but that might have been a comment
@whynotbefriends actually looks like finalmouse changed from 30 to 14 days during covid, i definitely had a return in 30 days back in the day cuz that's the timeframe i returned my ultralight pro in (definitely > 14 days)
@whynotbefriends 30 days sounds like a lot but:
you can just buy ANY mouse on Amazon and return it within 30 days
Zaunkönig also has had this same policy for years now, but for all global customers, not just customers of 1 store
even fucking Finalmouse has 30 day returns...
nothing special tbh
@jedinme basically if Riot wanted to they could, without doubt, completely fuck over KC here with absolutely no recourse, and you know for a fact Riot PR would spin it so everyone sides against KC (esp since ppl already hate KC fanbase), just look at MKOI Valo incident from last yr
@jedinme what makes this worse is there are so-called "aggravating factors" here because there is potential sporting advantages here (which are explicitly mentioned in the policy):
at the time KC lost, that loss decreased both G2 and FNC's odds
key here is "indirectly" & "act of omission"
