I got laid off from Bungie yesterday :(
It was a wonderful 3 and half years and I'm proud of the animation work I got to create on Marathon. No regrets, I got some good memories there. Wonderful people to work with. It's off to a new adventure somewhere now, wherever that may be
It was a huge honor and privilege to spend nearly 12 years helping bring Raids and Dungeons to life. It means so much to me how many of you enjoyed the content, and built lasting bonds with people because of it.
I worked on other RaD, season, and expac content, but my primary work was on RaD as technical design owner of:
Pantheon 1 and 2
The Desert Perpetual Normal and Epic
Vesper's Host
Salvation's Edge
Ghosts of the Deep
Spire of the Watcher
Kingsfall Reprise
I had a pretty good run.
I learned ages ago that problems need to be approached as opportunities if you want to stay sane. I'm sad to leave Bungie, but I'm 10x the game dev I was, and 95% of the feedback from community on animation has been love.
Open for senior animation roles, for now 😊 Eyes up!
Today is my last day with SIE/Bungie as I was impacted by the layoffs today. This was a dream job in so many ways given how much of an impact Destiny 2 has had on my life. Very grateful for these past 4 years. 💛
Yea… today gutted me. Working at Bungie had been my dream since high school. A dream that, for a fleeting moment, I got to live.
So tonight we rest. Tomorrow we start a new dream.
💙 To our community: thank you, you know, for being my Guardians.
My journey with Bungie has ended today along with hundreds of my peers. Working on the storied Destiny franchise has been a privilege and my colleagues are the absolute best in the industry.
On to new adventures!
Today marks my last day at Bungie. Even in my short time here, it was a dream to work with so many incredible people on a game we all loved. I will cherish the time I had and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Thank you everyone that has been there for me and thank you Destiny
I loved everyone I worked with @ Bungie, but man, I miss the shit out of PJ. They were the team that worked on campaign missions from Witch Queen to Final Shape (anything prior is before my time), and I am so beyond sad we never got to take another shot at something together 😭
The tough part about my situation is that I was only under a contract with the agency SIE uses for paid work. Meaning I have no severance, this is my last paid day for myself & family of 3 young children. Any support is welcomed while I go through the journey to replace my income
the people who made deep stone crypt and last wish and kings fall and vespers host no longer have jobs because some rich guys who dont even play games wanted to spend the money on themselves and cars instead of their employees and the game they were supposed to manage
My aching heart to everyone at Bungie.
The people I met there are without exception among the very kindest & most astoundingly talented artists & engineers & creators and craftspersons & human beings I've ever, ever met, much less had the chance to work with.
All my love. 💜
Bungie was the dream job. I feel beyond fortunate I was able to work on Destiny 2 for the past five years, to see Marathon grow into its own, and to have met so many talented and kind people. I'd do it all again.
If you need a visual/graphic designer, I'll be looking for work.
