Opoku with some proper centre forward skills and hold up the play. Then subbed off. Good showing for the Leicester loanee

79’

Excellent save from Jeacock from point blank. Then another off the ground and Crawley puts it away but it’s offside

Northampton Town 1:1 Crawley

Some good and quick thinking from the throw in and Opoku stabs it in to give Cobblers their first lead in League Two this season.

@JakeSharpeBBC Sad but true

Fornah is getting stick from the crowd, and unfortunately I say it almost every game.

“He’s a decent player, but he’s not as good as he thinks he is.”

Concentrate on the basics son.

As Alwyn Hargreaves used to say “if you’re not in possession, be in position” #ntfc

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

@JakeSharpeBBC It’s astonishing that we can’t make those passes count. Giving it away whenever we look dangerous.

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

@ntfc DISAPPOINTING!!

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

FULL TIME:

Crewe Alexander 1:0 Northampton Town

Still not able to convert in some good moves and Town continue their poor start to the season. Had lots of the game but couldn’t finish. Subs made no difference and we come away with 0 points again

HALF TIME: Cobblers look bright in the first 45’ but couldn’t convert some bright moves Crewe stepped up later in the half and we go in with no score.

Crewe Alexander 0:0 NTFC

@JakeSharpeBBC Impressed with Donacien for sure. Back line looks solid.

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

Cobblers take a point against Swindon in the opening game of the season. Some good combinations & some good outings for some of the new boys. Still lots of work to d

Not sure we have a striker or any type of effective strike partnership upfront, which we’ll need for sure. #ntfc

71” Perkins and Saunders come on. Warhurst and Evans leave the field.

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

Cobblers build an attack from the back despite themselves and end up with another corner in the 66“. But can’t capitalize

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

@James_ChronNTFC Case in point just then

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

@TheShoeArmy1897 Tyrese demonstrating again that he’s not as good as he thinks he is

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

HALF TIME: 0:0

Liking Fornah in this role. Moore doing good wing-back things and the Evans boys impressing at times.

Wormleighton & Warhurst look keen and determined. Some wobbles at the back but Hogg seems to be getting a tune out of the team early on in the season #ntfc

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

Great pass into the box and Warhurst’s shot just deflected away. Great stuff from the from line in the last few minutes

[ShoeArmyUSA 🇺🇸 🇱🇻 👞 🇬🇧 @ShoeArmyUSA]

@JakeSharpeBBC Looking proper joined up for a minute there
