@Alarsenalnews_@stewarthpetrie If he’s a bot he made a clearer and more relevant point than your rant. If you want to know why you lost that football match it’s because you barely had the ball. An embarrassing example of men v boys. You were v lucky to get a draw and shootout, but still didn’t take the chance.
@Aural_Xl How do these accounts exist? My timeline is peppered with them. They’ve all got thousands of followers FFS! Who are these morons? It’s making this app completely pointless!
@Ringham7@Marshillo_@Alexferguson@Arsenal@budapest@psg Come on. It was hardly brilliant. Bit of a howler by the keeper, getting beat at his near post. Arsenal defended well and they got the perfect start for their game plan. But it was basically anti-football. The sort of thing Wenger used to accuse Stoke and Blackburn of doing.
@WG_RumblePants@VinayLamba_ Buttler is a brilliant player. Never quite made it in Tests but not exactly a surprise. Ballance was very good for a short time (basically this time) and Lyth was one of a long line of openers who couldn’t quite replace Strauss as a partner for Cook. Few teams are all legends.
@MichaelRosenYes@HiddenYorkshire I wouldn’t say this is ad hominem. The fact you’re a famous writer is relevant to the debate on whether incorrect use of basic English should be ignored or not. But regarding the issue, Maguire has made a basic mistake. To suggest it’s a deliberate colloquialism is ridiculous.
@MichaelRosenYes@HiddenYorkshire Ha, ok. More worrying is a bastion of children’s literature and someone looked up to by millions of kids seeming to not care about correct use of the written word. English teachers everywhere must be pulling their hair out.
@MichaelRosenYes@HiddenYorkshire Come on, you know that’s not the case. It’s like writing your instead of you’re or were instead of we’re. Eg Were Going On A Bear Hunt. Too many people shout ‘grammar police’ and they’re always the ones with poor grammar. Those who respect the correctly written word receive abuse
@rouleur66@prodnose Who knows if it’s intentional though? Footballers lie all the time. How often does the ball go out of play and both teams swear blind it is their ball?
@prodnose The obvious rebuttal here is that if you did handle the ball intentionally then you’d try your best to make it look unintentional. There is no honesty in football (just look at appeals for throw-ins), so making a judgement on whether handball is deliberate or not is impossible
@Strangey81@MRIRBT That's funny. I don't see hundreds of other players who didn't have to play Europe or cup football getting 20 Premier League assists. The implication is that if you only play league games this is somehow an easy achievement. Who else has done it?
@poynej62@BBCMOTD Yes, that was exactly my point when watching. I don’t understand why fouls are treated differently in or out of the area. Looked like a blatant body check.
