Shoot Hoops is a basketball podcast hosted by me, Adam Brazil — Writer, Podcaster, D3 Hooper at H-SC, Warriors fan since 2009, Davidson Day 2020 grad, etc.
@Andre Iguodala talks this Steph moment on the @OldManAndThree Podcast:
“He shot right in front of our bench, whole team was going crazy, close to him. He lets the ball go, turns around, and tells them to ‘shut up’. The ball is mid air, wasn’t even close to the rim.”
Insane.

@shaneysn Statistically it is, especially when compared to other guys who have had the Best in the World crown— Bron, Curry, MJ, Kobe. He’s too good not to market and this is the NBA’s way of doing so
@shaneysn -not enough average fans are familiar with Jokic, but if they saw him play they’d love his play style
-MOST average fans dislike LeBron, so they’ll certainly root for Jokic
-average fans tune in for Curry but he only has a few years left
-NBA needs a new face! It’s Jokic!
@shaneysn Fully believe that opening night Lakers vs. Nuggets and Warriors vs. Nuggets on Christmas Day are the NBA’s way of getting more Americans connected with Jokic.
-Curry and LeBron draw the most viewers
-opening night and Christmas Day always draw the most viewers (part 1)
@shaneysn Jerry West is *probably* a Top 5 PG of All Time
- listed as a PG for 10 of 14 years in the NBA
- averaged 8.9apg from 1969-1973
- averaged 6.7apg for his career
- 27ppg for his career
- 14x All Star
- 5x All Defense
- Led LA to Finals 9x
- Averaged 38p/7a/5r in 1969 Finals
@shaneysn Kobe Bryant has become underrated since his passing. For whatever reason, the media tries to tear him down and create false narratives about his career (inefficient, ballhog, bad teammate).
-most assists all time for a SG
-same TS% as Duncan
-won 5 chips, redeemed USA🏀
@shaneysn For 2000s kids, the GOAT convo is really strange. We did not see the careers of Jordan, Kareem, Magic, or Bill in real time, therefore we have no grasp on how they stack up all time.
It’s comes down to this:
You love Bron. He is your GOAT.
You don’t love Bron. MJ is your GOAT.
@shaneysn The NBA brand of basketball has over-evolved. Teams rely too much on iso ball, quick possessions, and 3s. The pace of play is too fast and at times it can feel like meaningless pickup.
When FIBA-style ball meshes with the NBA-style, we will experience a new NBA Renaissance.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the Western Conference Semis next year includes the same 4 from this year—
Nuggets, Suns, Lakers, Warriors
Stars have to align a little bit but those are the 4 best teams in the west
You can almost always tell how good a player is based on how much criticism they get after a sub-par playoff game
Highly criticized: LeBron, Steph
Not: Jimmy, Tristan Thompson
Many discredit the 2018 Warriors because they swept a really weak Cavs team in the Finals.
People forget that the Warriors faced their biggest challenge in the WCF: Harden’s Rockets. The Dubs won in 7.
This was NOT a guaranteed ring for the superteam Warriors.

I don’t really care for why the refs are doing this, but I hate that they are waiting for the shot to miss to call fouls. Frustrating.
Was it a foul or not? Don’t let the result dictate the call.
