ANYWAY. That long backstory is how I ended up with the concept of a banyan (i.e., "strangler fig") treefolk. Here's a very quick drawing I did of the idea:

So, since I was invited into another TTRPG group a while back, and that group is playing D&D in a highly-custom setting, and I was making a treefolk (read: ent) character, and I was considering what species of tree to go with, and I was also looking at some homebrew mechanics...
