Auto-save is the hero we need, but don't deserve
Every time I lose a draft and realize I can never quite recreate whatever magic was there, I'm reminded that this used to happen constantly.
Bless you, Auto-save. 🫡
Tolkien: It is perilous to study too deeply the arts of the Enemy, for good or for ill.
Lewis: I wrote this book from the perspective of a demon and dedicated it to you.
Sometimes Christians hope or imagine that there are purposeful strokes of our faith in anime. It can become a sort of strange obsession, even if untrue.
But sometimes, Christianity intentionally influences a piece of anime, like Bleach—specifically in "Life is Like a Boat," the first ED by @riefuofficial.
I've interviewed Rié a couple of times—she is just so thoughtful and creative and generous!—and the very first time, almost a decade ago now, I asked about the rumor that had gone around about a missionary's illustration being the inspiration for that song.
Not quite true, but close. Here's what I wrote in my article:
"The story that Rié relates was taught to her by a minister. She attended Christian primary and secondary schools, and, while living in America, went to a Baptist school where she was baptized. That influence ('Christianity has been quite a strong part of my life') found its way into the song, as she recalls, 'One day a preacher was talking about the journey of life, and I remember him drawing this illustration on a blackboard, and it was somebody rowing a boat.' The dissection of that analogy, as she explains, what was inspired the lyrics to 'Life is Like a Boat.'"
We are all rowing the boat of fate
The waves keep on comin' and we can't escape
But if we ever get lost on our way
The waves would guide you through another day
@AllHa1lK0rr0k@MeghanEMurphy@PaulyTremonte Wait until she finds out there are female gamers, even many famous ones 🤯
Or the scientific studies shown on improved neurological abilities of gamers.
Reality isn't the kindest to those who live primarily on social media stuck on their phones like this woman. Oop. 😳
@ElfHarper11@thetangles them.
Claiming all things that make a persons job easier are the same is an absurd claim. No theyre not the same. I love how many people are trying to use photography as a comparison who clearly know nothing about photography..

@ElfHarper11@thetangles Stock photos were still actually taken by a person, who then gave actual permission to have their work used. Filters & photoshop reuire actual skillsets to use & HOURS of work. Photoshop is used to do digitally what we used to do to film photos in the black room while developing
@crackysays@thetangles@shir0wan captures light reflecting off of the subjects its pointed at, a tool that doesnt require a computer to work (film!). It also doesnt steal the work of others to do its job. Vs Ai is the one creating, & doing so by taking the work of people who actually worked hard to do their art.
@crackysays@thetangles@shir0wan & the average mom taking photos of their kids is not an artist. To be a professional photographer, an artist in that field, requires a ton of learning, practice, & skillset building.
So no. Just like a paintbrush doesn't create art, nor does a camera. A camera is a sensor that
