It’s a bad sign when people ask “are you still racing”. We’ve just ended our worst season at OP in decades. A poor crop of 3 yo’s with nobody stepping up. Still, promising 2 yo’s to the track shortly for OP 26/27.
Quietside in foal to Nyquist on one cover.
The GII Oaklawn Handicap being run today may be the best race ever run at OP. As a result it will certainly be upgraded to a GI in the future. Not bad for a ratty like track somewhere out west to the NY elite. Good work by Mr Cella.
Typically 3 yo’s don’t run against older horses till fall. However, most OP races for Maiden AR Breds are 3&up. This pits some young horses while still 2 yo’s running against 4,5,6 yo’s. Most can’t compete while so young. Not good for Arky program.
After a tough win in last years GIi Fantasy, Quietside never regained her true form. Time to move on to the next task. She is shipping to KY to breed to Nyquist.
Goodness, what a bum crop of young horses for us this year. Minor injuries and lack of talent puts us in cheap races while quality prevails. Still have a few bullets to shoot and Quietside will make sure Nitrogen shows her class in the Azeri. We’ll get’em next year.
