After 4 hours, we finally had the pieces arranged such that it resembled an elbow joint, only to have the c-arm bump into the arm, displacing the reduction," writes Lisa G. M. "As the hours wore on and the clock ticked past midnight, it would have been easy to quit, fearing that checkmate was inevitable, but we continued our work... (and) as I drove home that morning, I realized I had learned more in that case than any other case that had gone smoothly."
