At the BRICS foreign ministers' conclave last month, EAM Jaishankar called out sanctions imposed outside international law as measures that "disproportionately affect developing countries." Strong words. Rightly said.

But words need backing.

India claims the mantle of the Global South. Yet when extraterritorial sanctions from Western jurisdictions disrupted a fully law-compliant Indian refinery, severing access to its own paid-for digital infrastructure, our response was a court petition. Not a law.

The EU built a blocking statute to protect its operators. China built one for policy autonomy. Canada built one for sovereignty. Each of them forced the US to think twice before letting sanctions bleed into their jurisdictions.

India is BRICS Chair in 2026. It is hosting conversations about a fairer global order. It cannot keep speaking sovereignty while leaving its own companies legally defenceless.

Enact the blocking statute. Let the law do what diplomacy alone cannot.

Iran is believed to have struck the AR-327 early warning radar installation located atop Jabal ad Dukhan, Bahrain’s highest elevation at 134 meters.

The facility is equipped with a British-built BAE Systems long range 3D air surveillance radar, capable of tracking targets up to approximately 470 kilometers away. The installation forms part of a broader US aligned regional early warning and missile defense architecture that supports operations linked to the Fifth Fleet.

This is the condition of the Punjab mansion of Hindu businessman Todar Mal who paid 7,800 gold coins and bought 4 yards of land from the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb to bury the bodies of the 2 young sons and mother of Guru Gobind Singh on December 13, 1705.

The Mughal faujdar Wazir Khan had ordered the two young children be bricked alive as they refused to accept Islam. When they died, their grandmother died of shock

Comparisons are futile but for me one of India's greatest engineering achievements remains the 217 feet tall shadowless Brihadisvara Temple built by Raja Raja Chola I in 1010.

Crafted with giant interlocked stones and crowned by an 81 ton kumbam, it was built within six years.

I think the millions and millions of Gen-Z followers of this movement from Kansas, Palestine, Pakistan, Ivory Coast, Malaysia etc couldn't join the protests. Because they were just phones in farms that failed to instigate the Gen-Z organically in India. DS has once again failed.
