New York is also the seat of the United Nations and just as we shouldn’t have arrested Arafat we should maintain the norm of allowing world leaders to come to the UN. It’s unsatisfying and it leads to some profoundly unjust and infuriating results, but changing the norm could lead to much, much worse ones.
