Reason cited?

The Election Commission opposed Congress' plea, arguing that the objection had been raised after the statutory period for challenging the nomination papers had expired!

It had also submitted that the alleged discrepancy ‘‘did not affect’’ Rath's eligibility to contest the election.

Like seriously?

Meaning tomorrow any rape accused, criminals can hide cases & contest election as the window to challenge the information discrepancy crossed.

Is it election commission? Or BJP's selection Commission?
