Khaniya had paid ₹5000 for accidental insurance, but it was useless when in the midst of a crisis he simply didn't know how to claim it. With emergency assistance where he could simply phone up a loan officer from his community who he was familiar with, he did make a claim!
Mani Devi had started believing being illiterate meant being robbed. She visited e-mitra kiosks to have her pension started & was asked to pay enrollment charges multiple times, to no avail. At a Financial and Digital Literacy Clinic run with @AngelOne she was finally enrolled!
Financial distress can have deep & lasting consequences. Women in rural Rajasthan often take pride in wearing jewelry as heavy and 750 GM on each leg, most often received when they marry. Some have to sell it off to pay debts, and then must carry the absence of all it represents
After his wife Puraki died, Amra was being told to pay 9 installments before an MFI loan could be forgiven. We found out via a literacy meeting run with @AngelOne & asked, & it was called a communication mismatch. Money paid after the death was sent back to his bank account!
Time & multiple iterations have led us to refine the content and structure of Financial and Digital Literacy Clinics. Sakhi Sangini, an org working with adolescent girls is interested in replicating them in Gujarat, this is an exciting progression!
Support from @AngelOne was key
On his Aadhar, Nima Ram is a 30 yo. He couldn't get this corrected w/o a new birth certificate. At a Financial and Digital Literacy Clinic run with support from @AngelOne he was helped in applying for a birth certificate & is closer now to receiving an old-age pension!
After Dalu Ram lost his wife he came to a Financial and Digital Literacy Clinic run with support from @AngelOne, wanting the INR 3,000 in her bank account transferred to his. We discovered she was insured too, he got INR 2,00,000 as well! https://t.co/PKTTyGL2uY

As assets that can be sold whenever an emergent financial need strikes, goats bring both financial aid and the security of knowing such aid is accessible. Importantly, it is the women who gather the grass to feed the goats, it is the women who generate this financial security.
With support from @AngelOne, we launched another series of Financial and Digital Literacy Clinics this financial year. With services to identify financial fraud, link with insurance, etc we’re looking forward to the journey ahead!

Jamna Bai borrowed informally until she took formal credit through Shram Sarathi. With success in her enterprises, she actively began convincing those around her to give up informal credit. To her, her success isn't hers alone, she sees in it a lesson for others too #WomensDay
Through our financial and digital literacy clinics, we've been able to extend services from KYC corrections to financial fraud mediation to inclusion in insurance to migrant workers and their families. Support from @AngelOne has been key!
Carrying cash can be particularly scary for a migrant on the move, & using UPI payments can help massively with that fear. Poonam Singh was able to learn how to at a clinic we organized, and now operates two bank accounts digitally! @AngelOne@ShefaliHasija@Shram_Sarathi
