Hello, I’m Itegboje Daniel, a 5th year medical student at UNIBEN and a documentary filmmaker. I made a documentary that has screened in 12 countries across 4 continents, earning 15+ nominations, 4 awards, and nearly reaching the Oscars. Here’s why you should watch it. 👇 #OYO
While I was taking my morning walk today, I saw a mallam selling Pentazocine injections.
This is an opioid, a dangerous drug that should be sold only in a proper pharmacy or hospital with a prescription.
The discussion about it being original or fake is another topic entirely. How did we descend to the point where people hawk opioid injections? States have to step up and create their laws to cover the gaps in NAFDAC.
8 years of medical school. Now, Dr. Daniel Itegboje 🩺.

Medicine meets storytelling. ❤️
Thanks to the scholarship awarded to me by the Rivers State Government in 2017, I dared to dream, and today, that dream has become a reality. I have emerged as the Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Law, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, with 12 awards to my name.
Look who got a honorary Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) but doesn't have classmates.
Snr colleagues are the bane of this profession. They can lie in bed with politicians but to lobby the same politicians to improve doctors' welfare? Never. [1/2]
In Keffi, we were admitting two children on a bed and females on male ward.
You could find a woman post-CS on male ward because the female ward was nearly always at capacity.
And then when all the wards are full, they will still admit on examination couch, have less critical patients coming from home for their IV medications pending when there is a vacant bed.
We had less than 40 bed spaces (including maternity) and we saw about 100 out-patients, labour cases, and emergencies per day.
It was either these, or they go back home and die.
You people are very very mad and if you cannot face your government, you are as evil as them.

In 1966, out of all officers in the Nigerian Army, over 60% were from the East. Not because they were favored. Because they qualified. They could read the map. They could speak the English. They could pass the maths.
Then came the conspiracy. And it broke their heart.
The Coup was tagged an Igbo Coup. Then the counter-coup of July 1966, where Aguiyi-Ironsi was murdered, and over 200 Eastern officers and men were systematically hunted and killed in the barracks. Not in battle. In their beds. In their offices. Their brothers in arms killed them.
The pogrom and the war. 3 million dead. The boys who survived the war were told: you can never rise again. Dismissed. Retired. Their properties seized as "abandoned property". Their rank taken. Their right to join the army turned into suspicion.
After the war, Nigeria changed the rule. Merit was killed. Quota was born. Federal Character was introduced. So the son of the man who built the army was now told to bring a letter from a chief to join the same army. The people who built the army on brains were now told to join on numbers.
The uniform changed in their eyes. From 1970 till today, every time there is unrest in the South-East, the army is sent. Orlu. Aba. Afia. The same uniform their fathers wore with pride now comes to their village in an armored tank.
That is why Abia can only produce 100 boys today.
These bastards used a “national project” to open up their personal investments to new opportunities.
After achieving that, they are now telling us the road can no longer follow existing plans.
Den of thieves.
Umasoye is my wife’s High school classmate, a very smart young man.
We visited him in his house in Manchester before they travelled to India and he was in so much pains.
Please, I'm making a very passionate appeal to everyone to rally support of any kind for him to continue the treatment in India.
Please donate to save him - https://t.co/i4I3Sl5rf2
