Luckily I’m not hugely phased by this stuff having delivered 3 babies, but I couldn’t help but think if it was one of my daughter’s this would have been a very unpleasant experience #womenshealthmatters

As it’s #womenshealthmonth here’s my recent experience. I will leave out all the in betweens.
I had a coil in place that needed removing, no mention of painkillers at all before or during appointment with nurse at GP surgery, she pulled the thread and nothing was attached🧵

Got to hospital appointment, no mention of painkillers, no mention of local anaesthetic, no check in advance if a male consultant was acceptable to me (in face there was no female consultant there at all). After 40 mins and various instruments the job was done🧵
