I’ve said this before & I shall now repeat - Calling the end of 451 years of colonial rule “an upper caste Hindu state waging war against Christians” isn’t an analysis. It’s pure historical inversion. Goa wasn't some “Christian Heaven”under the Portuguese. It was a brutal colony where my ancestors were subjected to forced conversions, inquisition & they erased the culture for centuries. They were given three options .Convert, leave or face persecution .

Goans themselves (Hindu, Christians & others) had agitated for integration with India since 1940s. Nehru took 14 years to liberate Goa bc his policy was to settle it "peacefully". But the Portuguese refused every diplomatic offer. And Goa was liberated for ALL Goans, not against a single faith. Today, Goa enjoys representation, prosperity, & rights of both Hindus & Christians that Arundati’s beloved Portuguese could only dream of suppressing. Only someone desperate to invert history would call liberation “oppression”.

Instagram is turning Sonam Wangchuk into something he isn't, creating a messiah image that doesn't match the facts.
