It's truly a shame to see it go, I know that it likely helped many closeted/curious zoos out there. I've been observing how this site has been getting worse and worse over the ages. I'm happy it lasted as long as it did however.

With a heavy heart I bring news that X is planning to shut down communities at the end of next month, including this Zoo Proud group. There are currently no plans to migrate elsewhere, but a new post will be pinned if this changes.

Firstly, thank you all for joining to be counted and helping us show the world that we exist, and that we are sincere and earnest in our beliefs; that real love not only exists, but that it matters more than anything.

People like you are needed to combat the stigma - and enough of us being vocal about this directly challenges society's opinion of people with genuine feelings for animals. There are a lot of us, and that cannot be refuted any longer. (Huzzah 5300 members, by the way!)

Most importantly, thank you to all my friends who choose every day to stand up and be proud of who you are; to be role models for the community; to encourage zoos new and old to care for animals how *they* want to be cared for.

You stand against not only the stereotype of abusers that we constantly get mistaken for, but you stand against the actual abusers, themselves. To weather the storm on both fronts; I'm proud of you guys, and thank you for still doing what you've done since well before I arrived here, myself. You inspire me, too.

Now's a good time to ensure you've followed everybody you care to keep in contact with from here - and bear in mind that the #zooproud, #ζ, #zeta and #zoopride hashtags will continue to be available for anybody who supports healthy and harm-free zoophilia, as well as the ZETA movement (zoos for the ethical treatment of animals).

This group might cease to exist, but the community, its people, and our mission continues!
