@IsraelMFA This isn’t politics, it’s history. The union failed, the people chose peace, and Somaliland stood on its own. Time to correct a 60-year injustice.
For anyone who forgot, this is what the African Union itself determined regarding Somaliland:
“The fact that the union between Somaliland and Somalia was never ratified and also malfunctioned when it went into action from 1960 to 1990, makes Somaliland's search for recognition historically unique and self-justified in African political history.”
The discourse on international law rings hollow when voiced by individuals representing a state that has failed to govern itself for more than thirty years. Somalia’s history of institutional stagnation, despite massive international aid, suggests a preference for dependency and statuesque. Instead of building credible institutions, it perfected dependency on aid. Instead of exporting stability, it exports insecurity and crisis.
Sovereignty isn’t a slogan— it’s a benchmark earned through effective governance, security and accountability. Until Somalia learns to prioritize on keeping its house in order, it will remain the burden it's on the region, the continent and the entire world. While Somalia struggles with the basics of statehood, Somaliland offers the world mutually beneficial parnership built on ideals of civil nations.
Congrats to the people of the Republic of Somaliland on this historic recognition. This is a proud milestone for peace, democracy, and self-determination. Grateful to Israel for its support of peace, democracy, and self-determination.

@SenTedCruz Recognizing #Somaliland will ensure its strategic region to stay in the hands of friends not authoritarian regimes. This is about defending freedom where it matters most. Thank you @SenTedCruz
Thank you @SenTedCruz for standing with the people of Somaliland and calling for formal U.S. recognition of our independence. Your support strengthens our journey toward global recognition. #Somaliland#Recognition

We strongly condemn the Somali government's degrading treatment of war prisoners, forcing them to wear unwanted or opposition uniforms. Such actions violate international humanitarian law and basic human dignity. This is unacceptable. #Somalia#Lasanod#genevacoventions
@inside_afric Learn the stories, name the victims, hold the perpetrators of Dacawalay genocide accountable, and never stop fighting for justice.
@M_cagjar will face justice.
@inside_afric The Somali Region’s admiration appears to operate as though it is above international humanitarian law. The Federal Government of Ethiopia must act swiftly to investigate and prosecute those responsible to bring an end to impunity and uphold the rule of law.
