The last 2 papers of my PhD project were finally published at the same time! @ geoforum. The whole project explored why the gaming industry in China (Shanghai) and Germany (Hamburg) started from similar positions in the GVC but ended up differently after 15 years. 1/n
My quip: "GVC is two misconceptions wrapped up in a misunderstanding":
1) They are regional, not global
2) They are nets, not chains
3) They're about jobs, not value
