When working with students with sensory needs and difficulties focusing, fidgets can be a vital tool to help them stay engaged. The key is to pick the right kind of fidget. @Mr_Hall27@edutopia

“In order to change behaviour you have to change who has power, and in order to decide who has power, you have to consider who adds value.”
Such an important governance conversation that can be applied to the education system.

Only in DC will a party sink a bill they support like.burn pits because dems passed a bill they also support (CHIPS).
Pass the burn pit bill. Not just because I’m a burn pit vet but because for Gods sake, it’s right to do.

“Progress moves at the speed of trust.” If we focus first on building an equitable & joyful culture of trust, respect, & celebration of learners’ strengths, then all things literacy wise are possible.
So, like, do people think that in a normal year kids come in having learned everything from the previous year?
If we’re freaking out about “learning loss” and only just now trying to figure out how to meet kids where they’re at, we’ve probably been doing this wrong all along.
EVEN in ESL programs we CAN honor, affirm, & value students’ language & literacy. It may look & sound a bit different from bilingual programs, but we can do it! Kids should not have to shed their primary language when they walk into the classroom. It’s an asset! 🌍🙌🏽💥
What an inspiring session by @ValentinaESL ! Availability does not equal accessibility. Let's make the content both, available and accessible, at the same time! #EAL#ELLs#multilinguallearners
