The NEET protest is flooded with vulgar posters, shallow slogans, and reel-driven content. It is actually disappointing.

Some slogans at the protest site are really creative, so are some placards.

Also there are abusive, absolutely filthy, ghastly slogans and obscene acts enacted by children in front of other children. All in fun.

A lot of words kids, especially girls, won't say in front of their parents are being said. Even if their parents don't mind, their future employers may not be as kind. Each of them will have different personal and work lives later. Not everyone is rich enough to be a business owner or skilled enought to become a content creator.

This is for content creators. Please mask the faces of the girls who are energised by the camaraderie at Jantar Mantar and say things that they may regret later.

There is life beyond this protest, the same life they are fighting to make better. Don't publish the momentary lapse of reason. You will get views, but the unsuspecting girls and boys will get more than that.

I know they are doing it voluntarily, but not all of them have given you their consent, and even if they are letting you record, be considerate.

This is their age to play carefree in a rebellious movement. But this is temporary; the internet is permanent.

@BJP4India इनका कुछ न बिगाड़ पाई है, न बिगाड़ पाती दिखती है। ये न तो पंजाब में प्रदर्शनकारियों की पिटाई पर कुछ नैरेटिव बना पा रहे हैं, न केरल पर। न ये यह बता पा रहे हैं कि गहलोत और राहुल गाँधी किस मुँह से पेपर लीक पर बोल रहा है?

@narendramodi जी का व्यक्तिगत सम्मान/अहंकार/अकड़ वामपंथियों को अवसर दे रहा है कि वो इस बार शाहीन बाग और किसान आंदोलन के हायब्रिड मॉडल ला कर पूरे देश में ऐसे कॉकरोच पार्क बनवा देंगे। इसमें लोग मरेंगे, यह तय है।

बीच सत्र में मंत्री तो नहीं हटेगा, पर अब कॉन्ग्रेस अड़ गई है कि बिना उसके हम संसद में चर्चा नहीं होने देंगे। जब इनके अपने समर्थकों ने इनसे जनवरी से यही बात कही, तो ये चिढ़ा रहे थे कि गुजरात निकाय चुनाव जीत गए, बंगाल में 208 आ गया।

19 जुलाई तक मुझे विश्वास था कि इसे सरकार नियंत्रित कर लेगी, पर सरकार की नपुंसकता ने पुलिस को लाल किला वाली पिटाई याद दिला दी। हर तरफ पुलिस पर हो रही बर्बरता के चिह्न दिख रहे हैं।

‘@AmitShah भूलते नहीं’, यह सुनने में बहुत अच्छा लगता है। नक्सली गतिविधियों को, कश्मीर को, NGO गिरोह को साधने में बहुत बड़ा रोल रहा है इनका। परंतु, उसके समानांतर CAA, किसान आंदोलन जैसी विफलताएँ भी हैं।

हमने यह भी तय किया है कि 2024 में लाए पेपर लीक कानून को संशोधित कर, इस माफिया की जड़ तक जाएँगे। अब न केवल कंपनी, बल्कि हर व्यक्ति भी ब्लैकलिस्ट किया जाएगा।

Just a small anecdote of Sachin Tendulkar’s Irani Trophy debut on his birthday:

November 1989, Wankhede Stadium.
5 selectors sat in the stands with notebooks & doubts, watching a 16 year old boy try to force his way onto a plane to Pakistan. Sachin Tendulkar had already shone through the Ranji season, 583 runs showing he was ready. But the men in charge preferred patience. They wanted one more look.

Irani Trophy gave it to them. Rest of India against Delhi. Tendulkar made 39 in first innings. Promising, but not the hundred that would have made selection automatic. So the 2nd innings became an audition he could not afford to fail.

What happened next was less a cricket match & more a rescue mission. Tendulkar walked in at number 4. Scorecard around him read like a horror story. Not a single teammate managed to reach double figures after he arrived (in fact, no one crossed 6 runs). Wickets fell like dominoes. By the time 9th wicket went down, he was stranded in the 80s, the hundred slipping away with every departing batter.

Enter Gursharan Singh. Rest of India vice captain had fractured his finger in first innings, his right hand wrapped in plaster, his match effectively over. Then Raj Singh Dungarpur walked over & told him to pad up. Not to save the game, but to save the boy’s hundred.

Gursharan walked out one handed. Tendulkar, already heading back to the pavilion assuming the injured man would not bat, stopped in his tracks. Gursharan looked at him & said, “Tera hundred kar ke jayenge.”

Tendulkar smiled, took strike & told Gursharan he would handle Maninder Singh himself. They added 36 runs for last wicket & Sachin scored 103*.

A week later, he was on a flight to Karachi. Selectors had seen enough. Sometimes greatness needs a century. Sometimes it needs a teammate with a broken finger willing to stand in the firing line so the story can continue.

Harshita Arora (@aroraharshita33) just became a General Partner at Y Combinator, making her the youngest in the accelerator’s history. She’s 25 years old, which is young enough that most VCs her age are still grinding as associates, hoping to make principal in five years if they’re lucky.

She also dropped out of school at 15, which is the kind of detail that would normally disqualify you from every traditional path to venture capital.

Between dropping out and becoming a partner... she discovered coding at 13, built a crypto portfolio tracker at 16 that Apple featured in the App Store, got it acquired, and won India’s Bal Shakti Puraskar (one of the country’s highest honors for young achievers).

Then she got an O-1 visa, moved to SF, and applied to YC with her co-founder.

Their idea got killed by Covid three weeks into the batch. They had zero background in trucking, zero background in payments, but had a dead startup with 3 months left to figure something out.

So Harshita spent weeks visiting truck stops across California, talking to drivers, watching how they paid for fuel, and realizing that the entire payments infrastructure for trucking was totally broken. Ancient systems, hidden fees, rampant fraud, still running on technology from the 1990s despite moving billions of dollars.

She built AtoB to fix it. Stripe for Trucking. A modern fuel card with transparent pricing, instant payouts, and financial tools that don’t feel like punishment.

Today AtoB is a Series C company serving over 30,000 fleets across the US, processing millions in payments daily, and building the financial infrastructure that the backbone of the economy actually deserves.

Now she’s a YC partner at 25, which is absurd when you consider that most VCs spend a decade climbing the ladder at banks or consulting firms, collecting the right credentials, and Harshita skipped the entire ladder and built a $700M company instead.

Credentials stop mattering when you build something that works, and this is one of the embodying principles of YC, so it is great to have seen her so active this last year in supporting YC batches as visiting partner, and now a GP.

Maybe as batches skew younger (like my post yesterday) partners will too...
