২২ নভেম্বর, ২০২৪।বারুইপুর-ক্যানিং রোডের কুড়ালি বাজারের কাছে নাকা চেকিং করছিল বারুইপুর থানার পুলিশ।

হঠাৎ দ্রুত গতিতে চেকিং পয়েন্টের দিকে ছুটে আসে একটা কালো আর্টিগা গাড়ি। বেগতিক দেখে তৎক্ষণাৎ গাড়িটাকে আটকায় পুলিশ।

তল্লাশি চালিয়ে গাড়ি থেকে ১২০.৭৬৭ কেজি গাঁজা, ১ লক্ষ ৮৮ হাজার ১২০ টাকা নগদ, একটা স্কুল ব্যাগ, একটা লেডিস ব্যাগ এবং একটা মোবাইল ফোন উদ্ধার করে পুলিশ।

গাড়িতে থাকা চারজন অভিযুক্ত ১.কার্তিক নস্কর, ২.সৌভিক বৈদ্য, ৩.দেবনাথ নস্কর এবং ৪.বাসন্তী সেনাপতিকে গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ।

গাঁজা নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য কোনো বৈধ লাইসেন্স বা কাগজপত্র দেখাতে পারেনি অভিযুক্তেরা।

অভিযুক্তদের বিরুদ্ধে NDPS আইনে মামলা দায়ের হয় বারুইপুর থানায়। মামলার তদন্তভার পান সাব-ইন্সপেক্টর তুহিন মন্ডল, যিনি নিখুঁত তদন্ত করে যথাসময়ে মামলার চার্জশীট দাখিল করেন।

গতকাল মামলার রায় বেরিয়েছে। মহামান্য আদালত অভিযুক্ত চারজনের জন্যই ২০ বছরের কারাদণ্ড এবং ২,০০,০০০/- টাকা জরিমানা প্রদানের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।
