The SC/ST Atrocities Act is India’s own blasphemy law.

Like Pakistan’s blasphemy law, it is widely misused. Like blasphemy cases, allegations can destroy lives before guilt is established. Like blasphemy, you can be booked for “insulting” figures who have been dead for centuries. And like blasphemy laws, its language is dangerously broad.

But there is one difference: the scale is far greater. It is more draconian.

The number of people destroyed by system under the SC/ST Act is vastly greater than those prosecuted under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.

No country can call itself civilized if it implements laws like blasphemy and SC/ST Atrocity act.

Either reform it or abolish it. #StopMisuseOfScStAct

When your core voters are disillusioned with you, the last thing, the absolute last thing, you should do is shame them.

This is Ajay Alok, BJP's national spokesperson. Today, he made a video criticizing, in a condescending tone, those GCs expressing anger with the BJP. If he was told by the party to do it, God help the party. And if he did it on his own initiative, thinking he would get noticed by the high command by attacking GCs despite being a GC himself, thereby getting better positions, then the party must show him the door to control the damage he has done.

The funny part is that he joined the BJP only in 2023. Before that, he was in the LJP, BSP, and JDU, and now he is preaching faith in the party to GCs.

What is even more ironic is that both of his children are US citizens. They will not be affected by the reservation politics here, and yet he is gaslighting GCs who are speaking out against reservation. In his follow-up tweets, he even called those GCs disgruntled with the BJP "nasli bewafa."

What is Brahminical Patriarchy?
Is it distinctly different from patriarchal mindset that exists in other caste and religious identities in every part of India? Asking for a friend.

इस मामले में झूठी शिकायत करने वाली महिला ने तब खुद कहा था कि 30 लाख की उगाही करेगी तो 10 उसको मिलेंगे और 20 भीम सेना को जाएंगे..ये सच जानते हुए भी समाज,सरकार,न्यायपालिका चुप क्यों हैं? सब जानते हैं कि SC/ST एक्ट के दुरुपयोग से कितनी ज़िंदगियां बर्बाद की जा रही हैं..और इसी बर्बादी पर इनकी दुकान चल रही है!

महिलाओं के हित में बने कानूनों के दुरुपयोग की तरह SC/ST Act का दुरुपयोग भी कोई नई बात नहीं है इस देश में 🙏 कभी भी किसी को भी फंसाया जा सकता है.. चाहे उसकी गलती हो या न हो... सरकार और न्यायतंत्र को इसको जल्द से जल्द बदलना चाहिए 🙏
