Now that Google Amazon Facebook Twitter are censoring free speech Will book burning start happening in this exceptional nation? I hope not What do u think the first amendment is all about? FREE SPEECH!
When your position is both “People who can’t afford to go to college shouldn’t take out loans to do it” and “People who do jobs that don’t require a college degree shouldn’t be paid a living wage” it kind of starts to seem like you just want to keep poor people poor.
The call to defund the police might be framed more accurately, and broadly, as the mandate to dismantle the hyper-militaristic, racist functions of the police as the coercive power of white nationalism, writes @sandylocks. https://t.co/7oZZaMvCLo
@Jake_Knabel Curious to know what percentage of those tested weren’t showing any symptoms / were confident they didn’t have it but were tested anyways.
I suspect that professional athletes are more frequently tested - that very well might skew the positive test rate.
@SonOf_Dod I’ll add that the concept that everyone should be treated equally under the law isn’t exactly a groundbreaking concept, and one that won’t be realized by simply asserting that it should be true. 6/6
Apologies for the length, quite a bit I wanted to respond to
@SonOf_Dod So I guess all of this is to say that, yes, some in the media put their own spin on events. In this particular instance though, Trump’s remarks come off at best (at least to me) as a disingenuous sound bite for his supporters, rather than any effort to actually do anything. 5/6
Jesus in Luke 15
100 Sheep, but one goes missing.
Jesus leaves the 99, and goes after the one.
The 99: “But…what about us? Don't we matter?”
Of course the 99 still matter, but they are not the ones in danger.
The one is.
Violent conduct is wrong and unjustifiable. All should be condemned.
Criminal conduct by police officers, however, is not of the same nature as criminal conduct by non-police officers. They are not comparable. We entrust enormous authority to cops to be only used lawfully.
@SonOf_Dod I want to encourage you to also put your voice out there in support of the goals of the movement and calling for changes in police departments. I think it’s important to amplify voices that have long been ignored by people in power
