@CybertronVGC Rock Slide is played on so many non-rock-type meta mons because it's a anti-Zard Y tool.
IMO once they add more mons and Zard Y sees less play, Rock Slide won't be that much of an issue anymore. Especially because of its relatively low damage and 90% accuracy.
@ZeoNXB New mons will come in September and people will cry about the meta being stale after another month into the new regulation. It's always the same.
There will always be a meta to hate.
Wrote an article about the current #1 team that dethroned Big 6 in VGC Regulation M-B, according to recent tournaments data.
The team is lead by Mega Raichu Y and Mega Staraptor, featuring Hisuian Arcanine as a way to wreck some key meta pieces.

@DaedricEtwahl@Baruc731 It's just that the games are way too easy. You either increase the difficulty or drop turn-based system. A lot of us have been asking for harder games, or at least difficulty settings, but it seems they just chose the other path.
Either is good to me though as long as PVP lives.
@PygmyVGC Yeah I loved PLA too and ZA felt kinda meh. But weirdly enough when I went back to PLA regular battles felt really slow.
I get your point though, and losing turn-based removed a lot of depth; basically battles in ZA are all about coverage alone. Hope they find a good compromise !
Unlike many I think this is the way to go. Turn-based battling makes no sense in games that don't require you to think anymore. It only slows down the gameplay.
Having a dedicated PVP turn-based game (Champions) and action-oriented PVE mainline games will feel way better.
Game Freak has confirmed in an interview that they expect that the classic turn-based battle system may disappear or heavily change in future main series Pokémon games, and created Pokémon Champions to preserve the classic gameplay moving forward.
If counterfeits become so hard to identify that no one wants to risk buying singles anymore, the market could crash. If it does, I hope this crazy casino of a hobby finally cools down. Maybe it could even help slow down scalping on certain products.
@PygmyVGC The main series needs more freedom in development possibilities, and turn-based gameplay holds it back. Action-based will unlock this.
Legends games showed that a different approach would suit the series quite well. It's not perfect yet, but Winds & Waves might be the one !
