It's an unfortunately complex topic. They are locked out of child combatants by I believe multiple ratings boards, and there's also huge branding concerns with creating 1st party footage of, say, the Punisher shooting a 10 year old Moon Girl. That's not a road Marvel Games has any interest in going down, for very obvious reasons. With that said, NetEase love Moon Girl. They were throwing her name around before I was in the picture, even when Marvel Games would rather they don't by virtue of her being an Inhuman and them wanting to push mutants as we go into a very mutant-centric period of the MCU and the brand moreover. NetEase just put her in Marvel Mystic Mayhem last year over tons of other picks (which had different regulatory concerns for a few reasons, particularly that it fell under the "cartoon violence" umbrella which Marvel Rivals does not, I believe.)

There were really 3 options: this route, not including either character at all, or aging her up which would basically mean making an entirely new character. And honestly? I'd love to see that eventually. I sincerely hope when it comes time for them in however many years to consider making an original character if they so choose (and they might pass), that's who they choose. And that door is still open by picking this path. For now, Dev uses Lunella's tech and is constantly communicating with him and involved in a very science-y narrative this season where she fits right in, and you still haven't seen quite everything they have in store for her just yet.

People say they "aged up Peni Parker" but as far as I understand, that was mostly a symptom of early development experimentation, and still didn't result in her being a direct combatant, which is the problem. She's also that age in the comics now, but notably was introduced as a teenager and is still a teenager. Lunella just turned 10 in the comics. She's a small child, that's the space that character occupies, she's a prodigy. I think there's room for them to try something new with her one day, and I'd love to see it. I hope the conversations this sparks light the fire that makes that happen. Devil Dinosaur seems like a ton of fun! Maybe he dominates the meta and all the cute fan artists become obsessed with the pair, and it leads to a whole Lunellassaince. Oh my god, wouldn't that be great?

My #1 favorite Marvel character got left on a shelf by editorial 6 years ago and hasn't been touched since because of corporate bs. And a lot of those same issues affect Lunella. She's an Earth-based Inhuman. Marvel would be all too happy to drop her and swap in a mutant, and then she's gone. Especially after the whole drama with the cut episode of the show, and the cancellation... It would be easy for them to make that call. They've made it before, and they'll make it again. She deserves better. She's holding in there. Marvel Rivals is a kingmaker right now, it's the biggest corner of the entire company in terms of what's actually driving public interest. And here she is! And Diamond White is back! I'm extremely excited about this. Over the moon. I would be heartbroken to have her sit this out. She deserves to be here.

But I also want to acknowledge, I understand the optics of me specifically saying all this. I'm not trying to talk over anyone, or dismiss concerns which are all legitimate. I'm just giving my take as a fan of the character with hopefully the post history to back it up. This is my first opportunity to talk about this in the year or so that I've known the two of them were coming and how, so I guess I built up a lot to say and had a lot of time to process my thoughts (thank you for reading all this!) With the options being what they were for Lunella in Rivals, I think I would have chosen this as well. And I'm very hopeful for what this can lead to for the character. We need to get her another ongoing ASAP

@SnowBallBro777 @Llamalaxy But if you play as character that long you should be at least decent with said character and know your strengths amd weaknesses. Know when to swap and so on? Ill never understand that. Great youre champion on spiderman but theyre playing anti dive why not just swap?
