KZN politics is becoming more interesting these days we move closer to November 4 Local Government Elections. IFP has rocked in the most popular Taxi owner & security company boss, Mavava Skhakhane who's also the nephew of the Gcaba brothers.
The move is seen as an counterattack for MK Party's populists agenda. The next three months gonna be lit in KwaZulu-Natal.
COMMENT:
Good to see some movement in the Tembisa Hospital scandal with more assets going to be seized.
Every step towards accountability is welcome.
But one critical question still hangs over this case:
If businessman Hangwani Morgan Maumela is allegedly the mastermind behind the multibillion-rand tender fraud and looting syndicate at Tembisa Hospital, why has he still not been criminally charged?
Is he being protected?
The SIU’s investigation uncovered alleged procurement irregularities involving more than R2-billion meant for healthcare.
Investigators say dozens of proxy and front companies were allegedly used to secure contracts, while the Asset Forfeiture Unit and SIU obtained preservation orders for assets reportedly worth more than R300 million, including luxury properties and high-end vehicles.
Yet despite these developments, Maumela has not been criminally charged.
The NPA has previously indicated that it is working to convert the evidence gathered during the investigations into admissible, trial-ready evidence. If that is the reason for the delay, the public deserves regular updates.
South Africans have watched this scandal unfold for years while public healthcare suffered.
The focus now must be on ensuring that everyone allegedly responsiblewhether public officials, businesspeople or facilitators-is held accountable through the courts.
Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done.
@pule_jones
As we watch closely, my sympathies go out to every South African who has been a victim of identity fraud. To every citizen who is stuck because of the selfish actions of migrants and the failures of officials who were supposed to protect them.
High Court in Johannesburg has given the Assets Forfeiture Unit (AFU) of NPA an order to take a property worth R326 million linked to Maumela syndicate. This property includes houses in Sandhurst, Bantry Bay, Hartbeespoort, Ballito and Cape Town, expensive cars including Lamborghini, Bentley and boat.
The investigation started after a report presented by former Chief Director: Financial Accounting at the Department of Health in Gauteng, Babita Deokaran, who was killed in 2021. An investigation found that 14 companies connected to the group illegally benefited over R400 million contracts at Tembisa Hospital by manipulating tender processes.
NPA said the money from these goods will be deposited into the Criminal Asset Recovery Account and kept to help the Gauteng Ministry of Health, saying the decision is a big success in the fight against corruption.
Here are the goods that were eaten:
Properties:
• Bantry Bay home, Cape Town – R88.57 million
• Sandhurst home, Sandton (25 Oxford Avenue) – R69.75 million
• Sandhurst home, Sandton (25A Oxford Avenue) – R71.66 million
• Pecanwood Estate home, Hartbeespoort – R13.66 million
• Zimbali Coastal Estate home, Ballito – R9.41 million
• Twin Towers apartments, Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town – R41.5 million
Vehicles and Other Assets:
• Lamborghini Aventador SVJ – R18 million
• Lamborghini Huracán STO – R8.75 million
• Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae Coupe - R18 million
• Lamborghini Urus – R7 million
• Bentley Continental GT V8 – R4.2 million

• Multipurpose trailer
• Regency 250 LE3 boat - R1.96 million
There’s something wrong with Nigeria that only Nigerians know about. I swear I’m interested in knowing why Nigerians would rather be in South Africa than Nigeria.
Nigerians gained their independence in 1960 ….
PICS: EThekwini Municipality has intensified efforts to reclaim Durban's inner city through a coordinated law enforcement operation targeting a hijacked building in the Durban CBD.
The operation resulted in several illegal occupants being taken in by SAPS for further processing and the seizure of alcohol allegedly being sold unlawfully.
I need Black South Africans to realise that Whites will always protect each other.
They use terms like "fraud", "corruption", and "state capture" for Black people - and they use terms like "scandal", "irregularity", "lobbying" and "incident" for their fellow Whites.
DISGUSTING!
We are very happy with today’s ruling… the Magistrate has ruled that the Suspect who is from Burundi who didn’t appear today because he was acting insane MUST appear in court tomorrow!!!
What we noted is the negligence of the state in this case, the man cut his hands then started acting like a mad man, he was taken to hospital and then suddenly the Doctor says he must be referred for mental evaluation!!!
No application was made for such a referral particularly because the Court has to decide on the matter, the actions of the Hospital are likely to prejudice the victim of the gruesome act.
We are happy that he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and he is in the country illegally and we hope that justice will be served.

South Africa has secured a $1.5 billion (roughly R25 billion) loan from the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). Signed by the National Treasury, this Development Policy Loan is said to supports critical structural reforms to modernize critical infrastructure across the energy, freight transport, and water sectors.
Chidimma's lawyer, De Saudi Darbandi, fighting to overturn her fraudulently acquired citizenship has a history of immigration herself & currently serving on SA Immigration Advisory Board🤔
Electricity is stolen freely across @eThekwiniM, in broad daylight.
All while ratepayers are charged exorbitant prices.
Worse still, death is only a touch away.
CHIDIMA BOUGHT A NEW MERCEDES BENZ
Chidima, an illegal Nigerian foreigner who entered South Africa illegally, bought herself a new Mercedes Benz. It is, however, unclear how she is allowed to reside in Cape Town Parklands and drive without a licence or any form of documentation.
She recorded herself driving while on the phone and posted the video.
Is South African law in favour of illegal foreigners more than South Africans?
I don't really mind if Chidimma Adetshina is granted South African citizenship. She was born here and if there was any wrongdoing regarding identity documents, that was the responsibility of her parents, not hers.
