Thanks for raising this question because it gives me an opportunity to clarify something here and perhaps answer to some questions that may have been raised elsewhere.

Jacqueline did not join & become Spokesperson straight away. The fact is, she has been a member of CDF but she has only assumed the Women’s Spokesperson role now hence the formal joining of the leadership.

I would also want to take this opportunity to reiterate that the membership of CDF is open to all individuals and organizations who subscribe to the values and objectives of the civic organization and that the membership is voluntary.

The suggestion that the defenders are elitist is inaccurate as well because it ignores the organic strength of CDF wherein we have leaders in all federations across the country and abroad.

However, I acknowledge that we may not have done enough so far to introduce the contingent of our leaders online which ultimately spotlights the few who happen to be frequent online users.

The CDF is still building it's structures mukoma. @SANDEJAQ is the spokesperson of the Women's arm of the Forum which is still very much building itself so these appointments are to be expected. There were public calls for people to join as members or express their intention to lead in some capacity.
