“my husband is cheating”
“the scandel was contained”
“you say you’re single to all the girsl at the bar”
“he was with her in dreams”
“maybe it was her”
‘‘somewhere in the haze got a sense i’d been betrayed”
i fear it was that obvious
I think we Swifties need to stop amplifying negative discourses about Taylor and her work. Sentences like "EVERYBODY hates this" aren't true; we ourselves can change that narrative. The reality is that Showgirl is a wildly successful album because people enjoy listening to it.
she hasn’t told her side of the story cause there’s nothing to tell lol multiple members of the crew came out after the movie did to say it was a lovely shoot and literally nothing out of the ordinary happened.
im gonna be bold and honest but as a whimsy glitter pop loving girl, i did not like folklore and evermore on the first listen and went back to her older poppier stuff!! months later i realized i was wrong!!
a lot of criticisms of lady bird seem to ignore the ending where the glitzy metro-intellectual life christine has been fetishizing the whole time turns out to be a giant disappointment and she realizes it was probably stupid of her to bicker with her impoverished family over it
i noticed a pattern of only hating the songs where she calls out the hate she gets and says she doesn't give a fvck and love the songs where she takes the hate to heart and says it emotionally/mentally damaged her. is it a kink of some sort where they love having power over her
the “joe alwyn wrote folklore/evermore” posts i really don’t understand bc not only are they insanely misogynistic but what has he ever done to make you believe that? what music is he writing that’s so good you think he’s able to write those albums? genuinely asking
I want to remind everyone that Evermore is her worst performing album of the streaming era, by a lot, and Folklore is on the lower end of performance.
Love those two albums, but the idea that they're the ones that are significantly more loved by people has always been false.
So fascinated in the way in which Taylor, Max and Shellback are toying with tempo, harmonics and percussion on singles like “The Fate of Ophelia” and now “Patient Zero.” Both hooks shimmer and glide, then slam down — luxurious but head-knocking. Killer outro on “Patient Zero” too
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of crazy swifties but I find takes like this interesting when the criticism is often "she's an evil nazi republican bitch who never makes good music & I hate her guts" & they're calling a majority female fanbase wild animals in the comments
cleveland! is some good old fashioned fun, and i love how the unspoken lines hold even more gravity as she compels the listener to fill in the blanks themselves. say them out loud, realize how we mistreat and dehumanize women. she’s clever with her call outs i love her
