@josleynhcs Haven’t had the issue but if you choose “new game” and continue through the prompts eventually you’ll get to select the mission and start point you want
@WoodstarForges They just need a game mode that appeals to the audience that play BR's/extraction shooters. I'm confident something of that nature can work for Halo
Halo would still greatly benefit from a BR (type) game mode. But you can’t have a BR at the EXPENSE of the core arena experience.
Make a good (complete) Halo Arena shooter FIRST.
Expand it with a BR later (within 1st year of release).
Undeniable success imo
Halo’s Project Ekur was canceled because players didn’t want a Battle Royale game
TDLR:
• Pierre was responsible for pushing Ekur through being approved.
• Second-guessing the vision of the project.
• Delaying development by constantly giving the development team new priorities.
• Initially ignoring market research feedback that proved it was the wrong direction.
• Canceling Ekur because Campaign Evolved needed to be saved.
• The market research could not be ignored anymore.
I’m told Pierre Hintze chose to act as a creative lead and head of production alongside his actual role of studio head. He became too involved with development while continuously changing directives, which caused development to become a mess and fall way behind schedule.
This includes canceling the Slipspace engine battle royale game codenamed ‘Project Tatanka,’ rebranding it into an Unreal Engine extraction shooter project, which was Ekur, second-guessing himself by turning it back into battle royale game, and then canceling it, just like Tatanka.
Late into Ekur’s development, Pierre finally decided to have market research done on the Halo franchise. The result confirmed that most Halo fans did not want a battle royale, they only wanted a full classic Halo game.”
Also, Ekur was developed 100% in Unreal Engine rather than a hybrid engine like Campaign Evolved. I’m told they managed to get Halo’s gameplay to work properly in Unreal Engine and play-tested it daily, but there was disagreement about whether it truly felt like Halo.

@TheTrueDH I mentioned a Br (type) game mode. I don't mean a BR specifically, I mean a new game mode that appeals to the market that play BR's and extraction shooters. They can make whatever unique mode they want
Campaign Evolved definitely isn't perfect, but it looks like they've at least nailed Halo's classic feel.
The core mechanics from older games, including Spring Jumping, still work in this game..
..even on Unreal Engine!
True! As far as spawn location though, nothing really out of the ordinary. Line of sight does not fully block a spawn area, my understanding is it just blocks the area directly on the other side of your reticle. Area around your reticle is still fair game - Especially if player positioning, and previous location of player deaths, is influencing that spawn area to stay open.
