Out of all the acquisitions between 20-21, only Tapchief was a non edtech player.

I'm one of the early users of Tapchief since 2016. Hence curious.

I've now worked in startups for over 15 yrs. Pre Accel's investment in Flipkart; pre Ola/Freshwork's founding; pre India's first Unicorn (Inmobi, 2011).

It used be a bunch of geeks and misfits hacking and tinkering away in a nondescript corner, just doing everything possible to not get a real job.

We have come a long way since. The ecosystem is way more sophisticated, founders more ambitious, and we don't just build, we speak fluent startup.

But, I miss the old days sometimes. The naivety was charming; the purity of purpose endearing. It was punk. It was David vs Goliath. It was romantic.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad where we are; that landlords, listed companies, and prospective fathers in law look at us more kindly. We've made it.

But, talking to founders and startup enthusiasts at @tamilpreneur's Grand Sangamam brought back a lot of the old memories.

At its core, the spirit of BUILDING is intact.

That anyone, irrespective of their circumstances, can build something of value and change people's lives for the better. And inspire others to do the same.

What a bright bunch of people - from Chennai, Coimbatore, Thoothukudi, Rameshwaram, Tenkasi, and elsewhere came to learn and share.

Kudos to @krpraveenkrish, @ShyamSiddarth and the rest of the @tamilpreneur team for building a fantastic community and enabling these folks.

Kudos to @svembu, @TenkasiAnanthan, @AmbiMoorthy, @rajamanohar, @itmohans and other founders who serve as an inspiration.

As @GunjanSaha_ said on our way back, you read about the Bharat story but experiencing it first hand is something else. A civilizational revival is underway.

It is authentic. It is ambitious. It is exhilarating!
