Carney has unveiled a new council to combat antisemitism in Canada. The lineup includes a former Liberal minister who is a Muslim, a DEI executive who is also Muslim, a progressive lawyer interested in social justice issues who represented pro-Palestinian encampment activists, an LGBT activist, and an Olympic speed skater.
Only one member is Jewish: Senator Marc Gold, has a long public record in Jewish communal and pro-Israel advocacy.
Seems like expertise in antisemitism was considered optional. If the goal was to reassure Jewish Canadians, this is a bizarre way to go about it.

Hey dickhead, did you also voice your opposition to "president Abbas'" pay for slay program that encourages and supports palestinans who commit acts of terror and violence for financial gain?
Canada has 5x the antisemetic attacks as the US. As 1/5 canadian Nova Survivors you suck
Canada is deeply concerned about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirm our opposition to Israeli settlement expansion and settler violence in the West Bank.
Earlier today, I spoke with President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the measures taken by the Palestinian Authority to strengthen accountability, governance, and democratic institutions, in which Hamas can play no part.
We will continue to promote peace and stability in the region, and work closely with partners toward this goal.
In May 1948, the Arab states openly declared their goal: not borders, not “occupation,” but the complete extermination of the Jewish state and every Jew in it.
Egypt’s Minister of War boasted: “This will not be a war with the Jews, it will be a parade. Within two weeks, we will be in Tel Aviv.”
Iraq’s Prime Minister said the Jews would be “driven into the sea.” The Arab League’s Secretary-General promised a “war of extermination and momentous massacre.”
Here’s the miracle most people still don’t know:
Israel began the war with zero tanks, zero fighter planes, and only enough ammunition for about three weeks of fighting. It was under a total Western arms embargo while Britain was actively arming and commanding the Arab Legion. The Jewish population was just 650,000 — many of them Holocaust survivors who had barely escaped the gas chambers.
They won anyway.
The Arabs lost on the battlefield, then invented the “Nakba” narrative to hide their failure and keep their people in permanent refugee status as a political weapon.
The more things change…
@mehdirhasan Only if you consider Hamas and other terrorist operatives wearing the press vest as real journalists. The lie is over. Hamas & PIJ martyr notices are outing dozens of these fake journalists as combatants. It's not "Israel says so" evidence any more.

“I’m not a rapist….I’m not a pedophile.”
Norah O’Donnell torches him with: “Oh…Do you think he was referring to you?”
He’s going to regret doing this interview.
The global collapse of pollinators is killing 427,000 people a year.
A 2022 Harvard study traced the chain. Insect populations are in free fall; bees, moths, flies, and other wild pollinators now produce 3-5% less fruit, vegetables, and nuts globally than they would with healthy populations.
That deficit reduces consumption of the exact foods that prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain cancers.
The researchers modeled the resulting mortality using hundreds of experimental farm datasets from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Their estimate: 427,000 excess deaths a year, mostly from cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer.
This is a larger human health impact than prostate cancer and substance use disorders, and it's happening because we keep spraying broad-spectrum insecticides, tearing out meadows, and paving over the small wild places pollinators need to survive.
Every wildflower strip, every unmowed edge, every native plant in a front yard is working against that number. Not metaphorically. Actually.
Still silence from all the "experts," Lancet "researchers" and media who repeated false claims of 100,000+ killed in Gaza. Claims of massive "residual" starvation deaths did not appear, the Ministry of Health says it was 475 for the entire war. How about a follow up @nirhasson ?
Elections in Gaza? Did you know that in the Gaza Strip, where the most destructive war in Palestinian history occurred over the past two and a half years, elections are about to take place in 10 days? And did you know that Hamas is running in those elections, albeit not under its official banner? You heard that right – the area where 70% of the population lives in tents, 80% of the Strip’s buildings are fully destroyed or partially damaged, a supposed genocide took/is taking place, malnutrition and hunger prevailed just a year ago, and Hamas is still in control, is somehow going to be able to partake in an electoral process. Here are the details of this insanity:
The Palestinian Authority (PA) and Fatah in the West Bank want to ensure that the territorial integrity of the Palestinian Territories is maintained and that the Gaza Strip is not permanently separated from the Palestinian national project, identity, jurisdiction, and processes, despite agreeing to a transitional phase after the ceasefire that’ll entail international custodianship under the Board of Peace. The PA is holding municipal elections in the West Bank, and wanted to include Gaza in this process. After careful consideration, it was decided that this can only work in the central city/municipality of Deir al-Balah, which is one of only three parts of the Strip that were spared widespread destruction and devastation because the Israeli army did not enter it.
Hamas is now massively based in Deir al-Balah, which has become a new power center for the surviving elements of the terror group’s governance apparatus, police, membership, and infrastructure. However, Hamas ostensibly agreed to give up control over Gaza to the newly formed Palestinian technocratic committee (NCAG) and is theoretically no longer interested in governing Gaza. Plus, the people of Gaza are so furious and done with Hamas that after nearly two decades of controlling the Strip, they can’t fathom the idea of more Hamas control and influence.
There are four “lists” running several candidates each. They are: List #1: "Peace and Construction," List #2, and most suspiciously believed to be Hamas’s covert network of operatives: "Deir al-Balah Unites Us, with Your Service, We Rise," List #3: "The Future of Deir al-Balah," and List #4: “The Renaissance of Deir al-Balah.” There is an unbelievable level of public mistrust of any candidates who are affiliated with or adjacent to Hamas. List #2 members are being called the red shirts, and while they tried to say they don’t belong to the terror group, Gazan society has judged them as being Hamas’s covert list, encouraging voters to steer clear of this list.
Elections are about much more than merely the ballot boxes. They are about a free press, civil society, freedom of expression, and institutions that complement the act of voting. Holding elections in Gaza at this time is extremely reckless and irresponsible. Gazans are being arrested, jailed, tortured, shot, and killed daily for social media posts and anything they say that’s perceived as being critical of Hamas. These elections should be halted and prevented from proceeding, for they are meddling in the transitional process that the Board of Peace, NCAG, and the international community have planned for Gaza, with Hamas’s disarmament and relinquishment of power being the first necessary steps.
Hamas is trying to covertly reinvent itself and replicate what it did EXACTLY two decades ago when it ran in the infamous 2006 elections that caused the catastrophe in Gaza and for the Palestinian people. Gazans need food, housing, humanitarian assistance, freedom from Hamas, a better future, security, safety, and hope – not a token electoral process!
Oh please. Like day follows night, Mohammed Wishah was another Hamas terrorist posing as a ‘journalist’ with Al Jazeera.
Wishah was is a prominent commander in Hamas's anti-armor missile system, who then transferred to work in research and development in Hamas's air force.
Targeting Nadeen is absolutely horrific and should be condemned. But why do the people at Drop Site seem not to hear about the Palestinians who get literally killed by Hamas or others who end up being tortured by the same group because of an opinion they say?
