Regarding Russia’s attacks against European countries: Russia is testing their ability to defend themselves and trying to influence societies so people begin to ask: “If we can’t protect ourselves, why should we keep supporting Ukraine?” This is intended to reduce assistance to Ukraine, especially ahead of winter.

92 drones were headed toward Poland. We intercepted them over Ukrainian territory, 19 reached their airspace. Still, we see the direction, so to speak the choreography of this flight. Italy may be next. You see Norway, Denmark. There are signals from Sweden. There are Romanians, Poles, the Baltic states. Putin is testing what the Europeans have.

Some countries may worry about transferring air-defense systems to Ukraine and decide to keep them at home. But it doesn’t work that way. You can’t use systems like Patriot to shoot down every drone – there simply aren’t that many interceptors in the world.
