ऐसे मामलों को देखकर सवाल उठता है कि आखिर दहेज प्रथा पूरी तरह खत्म क्यों नहीं हो पाती, जबकि कानूनन दहेज लेना और देना दोनों अपराध हैं,

लेकिन कई जगहों पर आज भी सामाजिक दबाव, पुरानी सोच और लालच के कारण यह कुप्रथा जारी है। नतीजा यह होता है कि कई परिवार आर्थिक, मानसिक और शारीरिक उत्पीड़न का शिकार हो जाते हैं, और कुछ मामलों में इसकी कीमत लोगों को अपनी जान देकर चुकानी पड़ती है।

वीडियो किस जगह का है, इसकी पुष्टि नहीं है। लेकिन अगर दहेज की वजह से किसी महिला की जान गई है या उसे प्रताड़ित किया गया है, तो यह बेहद गंभीर मामला है।

ऐसे मामलों में दोषियों की निष्पक्ष जांच होनी चाहिए और कानून के अनुसार उन पर तुरंत सख्त कार्रवाई की जानी चाहिए। दहेज जैसी कुप्रथा के लिए समाज में कोई जगह नहीं होनी चाहिए।
