Third year @BBSRC funded PhD student at @UoMMIB. Engineering Bacterial P450s to produce valuable drug metabolites. Pizza, music and travel enthusiast ππ΅π«.
@Conservatives@michelledonelan This is the most stupid political poster I have ever seen, @michelledonelan the entire scientific community is laughing at you! You've got a BA in History and Politics so the audacity to claim you know anything about science in the UK is hilarious.
@UoNYES 2020 finished, congratulations to the finalists AER and Pipeline organics! Plastase tech are now having a good old zoom debrief with some beers!
@UoNYES Business pitch over and done with for Plastase Tech, we are very happy with the presentation of our global business model and I think we managed to avoid the first on judges grilling curse! Proud of our team, well done guys @I_Am_Florence Alex, Aoife and Emilie!
Plastic waste is one of the defining ecological crisis of our time. Plastase Technologies @OfficialUoM are committed to developing a sustainable plastic recycling system using enzymes. #YES20#UnleashYourIngenuity ππ @Laura_Etchells
Prepping for the @UoNYES competition tomorrow (Biotech energy, engineering and environment theme). Our teams business model is based on future plastic degrading enzymes, an exciting idea that we all wish was actually real!
@Katiegracee24 I supervised a master's project last year, I'd say have a grasp on a vague week by week plan for them but allow them some academic freedom and mould the project so they can choose to learn new techniques!
I have fought for the ability to support low-paid people and businesses who will be most harmed by Tier 3 closures. Simple as that. Please donβt misrepresent my position.
In ten years in Parliament Iβve never seen anything like this. MPs are on a call with the Health Secretary being told Greater Manchester is getting only Β£22m while our Mayor is at a press conference being told by the media. This is bad faith, itβs immoral - just disgraceful
@aleddeakin Good observation Aled, I too felt like one assessor was trying to trip me up even though I had good answers to most questions! I wish there was more constructive criticism of my work over the lambasting. This intimidating approach can put many off pursuing an academic career.
Excited to be taking part in @UoNYES 2020, a competition for early career researchers based on taking fresh #STEM ideas to commercialisation. My team have chosen the Energy, Engineering and Environment theme, for which new ideas are crucial in today's society.
