Collema flaccidum on siliceous boulder, Crinan Ferry, Argyll, NR79/VC98. Note scale-like isidia. Like other jelly #lichens its growth governed bit more by photobiont (Nostoc cyanobacteria) than fungus alone. But unlike most jellies it doesn't swell much if wet: hence 'flaccidum'.
A great opportunity! If you are interested in marine microbes (coral-associated or otherwise) and natural products chemistry for your postdoc then @WS_DISCOveryNP and I would be interested in chatting!
