JOHANNESBURG DISTRICT FCS UNIT APPEALS TO THE PUBLIC TO ASSIST IN LOCATING A PERSON OF INTEREST
The Johannesburg District Family Violence, #ChildProtection and Sexual Offences Unit is requesting assistance from members of the public in identifying and locating a person of interest who can assist them with investigations into a rape case that was reported in Dobsonville on 01 September 2026.
It is alleged that the victim was walking along the street to a local shop, when a white Toyota Quantum with three unknown male occupants approached her. One of the men allegedly forced her into the vehicle, after which they drove to an unknown open area where she was allegedly raped.
The person depicted in the attached photograph may have information that can assist the police with the ongoing investigations.
Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of this person is urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Ntobong, on 067 100 2282, their nearest police station, or the SAPS CrimeStop number on 08600 10111.

Ibanathi Peter, 17, and Sinothando Malinga, 19, lifeless bodies were found by community members in a veld in KwaNobuhle, Eastern Cape, on 18 June 2025.
The girls had been at a friend's house when four men allegedly forced their way inside. According to witness statements, the men allegedly gang raped Ibanathi and Sinothando before burning their bodies and dumping them in the veld.Β
The four men, Akhululwe Pungulwa, Anele Ngalo, Siphosethu Gomomo, and Zubenathi Dyakumeni, aged between 21 and 28, were arrested one day after the girlsβ bodies were discovered and have been charged with rape and murder. All of them abandoned their bail application.
