Lastly, Capital One has no customer service system where an issue can be lodged with a complaint number. I was quite surprised to hear this. Even companies with 1,000 employees have such a system
There are two issues: their flight disruption insurance has rules that penalize airlines who notify customers in advance of a flight disruption. In my case, one of my destinations has a forest fire and the airport has been closed as per the order of the government.
Capital One's partner team has contacted me. Lets see if they can do anything. I have already requested a meeting with my senator who is on the Senate Banking Committee to to discuss filing a formal complaint with Capital One.
