A Seat at the Table has closed. The winning bid of $9 million will be split equally between @EatLearnPlay and GLIDE — with Warren Buffett personally matching the full amount for both organizations. Gratitude to every bidder, partner, and supporter who made this possible.
Fresh produce, healthy meals, new books — the Eat. Learn. Play. Bus brings it all directly to Oakland kids and families, week after week with our partners from Alameda County Community Food Bank, Oakland Literacy Coalition, and Community Kitchens alongside us. #poweredbyjoie

The Oakland Marathon brought 11,000+ runners through Oakland and across the Bay Bridge for a day of energy and community. We were proud to be the charity beneficiary for the 3rd year. Through the generosity of runners and partners, over $150,000 was raised for kids in Oakland!
A December worth remembering! 3 weeks, 47 schools, and 17,000 Oakland elementary students choosing books they couldn’t wait to read. To every volunteer and school staff member who made it happen: thank you! We couldn’t have done this without your time and teamwork.
Our co-founders Stephen and Ayesha Curry joined Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King for a powerful conversation on what it really takes to build the beloved community.

At Christmas with the Currys in 2023, Stephen & Ayesha surprised Manzanita students with the news that we would be transforming their schoolyard. In 2024 we revitalized the TK yard. This past week we completed one for older kids. Now every student has a place to play and grow!
We’re taking back sports for the next generation of kids! @ESPN has named our co-founder, @stephencurry30, as an athlete ambassador for their #TakeBackSports initiative alongside an incredible group of athletes.

SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! This year, we doubled down on our PLAY pillar. Together with our partners, we’re making annual seven-figure investments working to rebuild middle school-based athletics across Oakland with new facilities, expanded access, and training for 300+ coaches.
SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! In 2024 we committed to advancing literacy in Oakland with a $25m investment, providing one-on-one tutoring and literacy programs for @ousdnews students and surrounding them with the books, tutoring, and encouragement they need to succeed.
SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! In 2021, we hit the road—literally—with the Eat. Learn. Play. Bus, a mobile version of our mission designed to bring healthy food, culturally relevant books, and joyful play to kids and families across Oakland in a fun and welcoming way.
SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! In 2023 we launched a $50 million, multi-year investment to provide additional support for Oakland public school students by partnering with @ousdnews, @kaboom and other partners to reimagine outdoor spaces and invest in the programs that help kids thrive.
SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! When the pandemic shut schools, it also cut off a lifeline: school meals. Eat. Learn. Play. pivoted fast, stepping into the hunger relief space. What started as a response to crisis became the foundation for our ongoing work in fighting food insecurity.
