The Lamorbey & Sidcup Local History Society with funding from Coca-Cola has planted an oak tree at The Green #Sidcup to remember the almost 90 civilians of Sidcup who died in the Second World War. Many thanks to @CocaCola_GB and @LBofBexley Parks team for their help.

Our free exhibition 'Sidcup in the Second World War' is now open at Sidcup Storyteller! This war was a community effort, with local people volunteering as fire watchers, first aiders, wardens, rescuers and rest centre helpers.

Our next meeting is at 7.30pm on Tuesday 6 May and we are definitely on a Second World War theme! Peter Daniel will be giving a talk on The Blitz in Bexley - a period of intensive bombing raids 1940-41 which disrupted life and caused death and injury to local people. #VEDay80
