Welcome to Sidcup Bells official twitter page. 6 bells tuned to the key of A. Practise held on 1st 3rd & 5th Wednesday 20.00-21.15. New recruits always welcome!
The bells will be ringing "open" for the funeral service of one of our former #bellringers and Steeple Keeper at @CCathedral ahead of the service at 1pm today.
11 ringers sun morning with a bit of outside support. Raised 6 in the peal (relatively well) for the first time in a long while, 2 lots of plain hunt and some finely struck call changes. Plus rounds for a couple of more advanced recruits.
A good morning's ring. #sidcup
A total of 18 people present yesterday including new recruits, established ringers and a couple of potential new ringers. A milestone well reached. Onwards to the next stage! #sidcup#ringfortheking#GodSaveTheKing
Last practice was very busy practice with a lot of band placing - with focus on rounds and call changes for our relatively novice band, plus the off turning over a single bell for a couple. 17 people in total and a good number of experience ringers to assist. ππππππ
progress in joining in both hand and back strokes and controlling the bell.
We will be ringing well by the 6th May which now is not so far away. Happy timesπππ

πUpdate of training progress for our new ringers...
Well done so far to our newbies we are training to Ring for the King. We are welcoming four of our new ringers to join with our band for rounds practice on Wednesday night, and our other friends are working hard on their 1/2
Another successful morning's training session! Good to see a trainee progress to both strokes and 2 others very much on the way!
Good Friday so the one occasion on a fully silenced clapper - the weight difference and ringability was very noticeable vs fully muffled. #Sidcup
A very successful training morning last week!
Photo from earlier in the session, though 5 trainees each have come a long way in the relatively small amount of time in the tower. #sidcup#bellringers#ringfortheking
