I would love to see Xai acquire a medium sized personal electronics company to start designing and releasing personal tech that is built for the grok and X ecosystem
@B_doong2daddy@bot I feel your pain. Same thing is happening to me. I am using this as an opportunity to go make past work better. fix that video edit. Re-write that post a little. Tighten up that video trim.
i had a lot of fun chatting with @mattpocockuk today about how i was able to land 2,500 PRs last month! Matt is a wonderful interviewer so i think the interview turned out really interesting
both of our skill plugins work great together, so i recommend giving both a try and picking the best skills that suit your workflow

I just sold my first Grok Bot.
I don’t even sell Grok Bots.
I was working from a cafe and got talking to the owner about AI.
I showed him a few of my Bots...
→ This one handles emails
→ This one does the boring admin
→ This one follows up with customers
He asks if I can build one for him.
I said I’d just help him build his own.
He says he’d rather pay me to do it.
And that’s how I sold my first Grok Bot.
deleting the product
it's funny how you can sometimes tell if a team culture is dysfunctional just by looking at how their app is laid out. behind every feature, or tab in a sidebar likely lies a PM or someone responsible for an OKR.
the problem is when individual performance is measured by these metrics. it becomes the singular focus of the responsible person to make those numbers look good, since it determines whether they get rewarded or axed, even if it comes at the detriment of the overall quality of the product. this is why you mostly see features get added, but rarely removed. if you own a feature, then it being removed feels like an aura loss.
this is even worse in the agentic era when the cost to add features has become so low. you can simply will a new feature into existence overnight and add another tab. but users will notice that you ship your org chart.
teams that make people play silly games under the guise of performance management rarely build great products.
to build a great product you need to first fix your culture
Why pay for something you can build yourself?
This seems like a cool service built to save people time and decision-making. Can you picture something you wish were different? Nothing against this company, but I’d rather own my data and build something similar to my tastes. What do you prefer?
On the shop floor, “I already told you that” is not a lasting rule.
You tell the inbox helper in chat: refunds are thirty days, not fourteen. It apologizes and drafts correctly — for this ticket. Next week a different thread invents fourteen again. You never wrote the shared house fact. You never updated the description line that says never invent the window — look it up.
Same correction text. Different home. Only one of those is teaching.
Audit the repeats. Check profile, house folder, memory, skills, routines, and sister seats that still hold the old version. Approve the smallest replace set topic-by-topic. Write once. Delete stale.
Handoffs need a clear owner and a defined done. Lasting rules need the same — or the receiving seat invents policy mid-pass from whichever chat correction it remembers.

Week-one Grok Bot setup: notice the repeats, land the rule where the next run will read it, stop re-arguing the same preference every Tuesday.

Correcting your bot is not teaching it.
You fixed the tone last Tuesday. You fixed the refund window on Thursday. This morning the same helper makes the same mistake — calm, polite, and wrong in the familiar way.
Nothing wild happened. You fixed this chat. You never taught the house.
A chat correction fixes this turn. It does not automatically become the lasting rule in memory, profile, skills, routines, or another seat. Teaching starts when the next run actually reads the rule where it lives.
We already talked about handoffs. A correction that never leaves the open chat is a broken handoff — nobody owns the lasting rule, and “done” means “I said something once.”

Run a correction audit: list the repeats, check every rules home, approve the smallest replace set, write once, delete stale. Soft Grok Bot onboard: correct the turn when you must; teach the house when it repeats.

Come meet your friendly Ferengi Business Partner. He never pays an oz of Latinum more. Sellers cower when they hear the squeak of this quadrants most accomplished acquirer of cheap gadgets and bobs.
However, as shrewd as his buying skills are, fearful you should be if my friend has something you require. He can smell need as well as he can hear the sound of money. No better deal will he make on your...I mean OUR accounts. He is a business PARTNER after all....

On the shop floor, “make my email smarter” is not a job.
One sentence: I want my email inboxes cleaned out and an update sent to me on any actionable items. That’s the job. Then give it a station that hooks up where the work already happens.
Write the job card — Purpose · Inputs · Outputs · Never. Split thin stations: Email. Calendar. Packages. News. Teach the steps out loud. Put the stations where the work already happens.
And lock the anti-jobs. Bates will never draft an email. That’s someone else. Informing is his seat. Drafting is another seat. Human in the loop every step — he informs, you decide.

Grok Bot allows you to decide what you need, and allows you to build it as you need it.

How to program a bot — start with the job.
I’m not opening a chat and hoping. I’m naming a lane, giving it a station, teaching the steps, and proving it on a normal week.
First rule: name the job, not the tool. If you can’t say it in one sentence, you’re not ready to set up help for it.
We already named one — deciding dinner, not cooking. Once you have the sentence, write the job card: Purpose · Inputs · Outputs · Never. Split thin stations. Teach the steps out loud. Lock the anti-jobs. Prove it on a normal week with you still in the loop.
