Yes our systems need to keep working hard in order to close the gap; we discussed this too. But it brought such hope to my heart having this genuine, warm connection over a 2hr flight with someone so directly affected by inequality over the last 5 decades. There’s hope yet.(7/7)

I went on my first Mornington Island outreach trip last week - and what a beautiful slice of Aus it is. Now I’ve seen some challenging things in this corner of QLD, but the health inequality for First Nations people is particularly prominent here.(1/7)

I learn that he’s the youngest of 7 siblings, all of whom have since passed. He says, “Honestly, didn’t think I’d make it to 53. But that’s ‘cos the life expectancy for us 10 years ago was around now for me. These days I saw it’s nearly 70. So we are doing something right”.(6/7)
