Google I/O 2026 just wrapped.
This wasn't an upgrade cycle — it was Google shipping the infrastructure for always-on AI agents. Here's what actually matters. 🧵
1/ Gemini 3.5 Flash is live *today* as the default model in Gemini and Search.
4x faster output than other frontier models. Beats 3.1 Pro on coding and agentic benchmarks. Already running in Antigravity and the Gemini API. You're already using it.
2/ Gemini Omni is a new category of model.
It's a world model — understands physics, biology, culture — and generates any output from any input, starting with video. You can say "swap out the action in this clip" or "add a new character" and it comprehends the scene, not just the pixels. Omni Flash is available now.
3/ Gemini Spark is the most ambitious consumer bet.
A 24/7 personal agent running on cloud VMs. No app open required. You configure it: monitor credit card statements, summarize school emails for family, turn meeting notes into docs + draft kickoff emails — autonomously, under your direction.
4/ Antigravity 2.0 is the developer agent OS.
Standalone desktop app. Parallel subagents. Scheduled background tasks. Workspace + Firebase + Android integrations. Developers are already using it to build agents that can code an entire OS. Doom runs on it.
5/ Search is generating apps now.
Not just answers — custom interactive tools and simulations generated on the fly for your specific query. Information Agents run 24/7 in the background to surface what matters before you ask.
6/ The scale numbers are real.
Gemini app: 900M+ MAU (up from 400M a year ago). 3.2 quadrillion tokens/month processed (7x YoY). 230+ countries. This is product scale, not research scale.
—
One-line summary: Google built the agent layer. Gemini Spark runs your life in the background. Omni generates the physical world. Antigravity lets developers deploy it all.
This is the shift from AI assistants to AI that acts.

There's some fresh buzz in the AI cloud world today~
Google Cloud just launched its eighth-generation TPU chips — two specialized versions.
One is built for massive AI training, the other for super-fast inference.
They’re designed to be faster and more power-efficient, and Google also brought in new partners.
Looks like the big cloud players are going all-in on the AI infrastructure arms race!
Over at Anthropic, Claude Opus 4.7 just dropped and it's crushing it in coding and complex tasks.
It's now available on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft platforms.
But their earlier Claude Mythos Preview is still locked down — it's so powerful at finding zero-day vulnerabilities and potential cyber attacks that they’re only letting security experts use it for now. Too risky for public release.
On top of that, Anthropic just signed a huge deal with Amazon: committing over $100 billion to AWS over the next 10 years in exchange for massive Trainium chip capacity.
In 2026, AI isn’t just about bigger models anymore — chips, cloud infrastructure, and security risks are all part of the game.
Who do you think will lead the next AI chip war?
