Happy Pi Day
Though ngl I'm really not much of a pie person, baking or eating. But might as well give it a go.
Used the custard pie recipe from King Arthur, surprisingly I've never actually made a custard-filling pie. Fruit? Sure. Cream? Sure. Frangipane? Sure. But not custard.
So, another tea party showstopper dedicated to my video game husbando. Also very taste-inspired by my oft-ignored Swedish background. (A lot of cinnamon, cardamom, coffee, and field berries in this one, folks)
Didn't quite turn out how I'd planned in my mind, but oh well.
Definitely having a baking session where it's, like... "You know, maybe it's better the phone stays silent." Multi-component bake and literally every component went wrong. 🫥
Mudslide Meringue Brownie Bars
A take on an old @cbcbakingshow Signature Bake. These (very) alcohol-filled bars will get me through Singles Awareness Day! 😭
Kahlua brownies, with a Baileys condensed milk caramel, topped with Bailey's-laced marble ganache and Italian meringue.
Red velvet heart-shaped, and matcha swirl with chocolate filling macarons.
Made for a friend to give to their Valentine.
Maybe I’ll make myself something filled with Baileys later for myself.
A bit ironic not even two hours after this post already have yet another instance of having cake-providing services turned down in favour of store bought.
Honestly really having a bit of a time wanting to keep up this hobby lately...
Sometimes I wonder if local friends actually realize that I not only *can* do baking for them, but *want to*.
I sometimes just see posts and want to go "You know I'm *right here* and would pretty much make that for you for free." And yet here we are.
