I've seen (& signed) the petition going around. But I think the much more powerful response if you're hoping for some kind of future for the franchise is:
Log on the week of June 9th.
Dont' get me wrong, Sony execs aren't gonna fall to their knees in tears and insta-green-light D3 or anything. But seeing SO many players out there logging on to give one last hurrah to the franchise that meant so much to them - it'll speak volumes in its own way.
At the very least, we'll have one more window of fun enjoying the last batch of new content in a game that meant so much to us. At best, it'll show how passionate the community still is, and just how badly so many of us want SOME kind of future for this franchise, no matter how long it might take to build.
I'll see you out there in June. It's gonna be one hell of a ride.
The notorious super El Niño of 1877-78 contributed to a global famine that wiped out 3 to 4 percent of the global population.
It was arguably the worst environmental disaster to ever befall humanity.
Are we better prepared now? The evidence says yes 🧵

A HARVARD psychologist says: “if you’ve achieved nothing by 25, you’ve avoided the most destructive illusion of youth”
> In 2021, a Harvard psychologist surprised a lecture hall with an unexpected statement:
“If you haven’t accomplished much by 25, you may have escaped one of youth’s biggest illusions.”
At first, the room laughed.
She wasn’t kidding.
> The illusion of early success.
In your early 20s, the brain seeks quick proof of worth ~status, attention, rapid achievements.
But psychologists warn that chasing recognition too soon can lock people into roles or paths they never consciously chose.
They decide too early… and spend years trying to undo it.
> The exploration phase.
Research on career development suggests that people who explore more before 30 often build stronger long-term directions.
Testing ideas.
Making mistakes in public.
Changing course.
At 25 it looks like confusion ….but by 35 it often turns into clarity.
People who feel “behind” in their mid-20s frequently gain something others miss:
Perspective.
Patience.
And a clearer sense of what truly matters to them.
That foundation often leads to better decisions later on.
At the end of the lecture, the psychologist left the students with one final thought:
“You’re not meant to have life fully figured out at 25.”
“You’re meant to discover who you’re not.”
