@ProfessorFudo Akiza gave them the medicines and was tending to Yuusei who seemed to be settling down a bit. It helped her knowing that at least she could comfort him somehow. She looked at Viktor, he seemed so small, almost like a child, his eyes open as he shook from his fever.

@ProfessorFudo Yuusei’s wounds were finally healing more and he was even feeling less breathless than before. He woke, looking at how Ezekiel and Hakase were doing. The 4th bed’s occupant had been asleep for a few days.

@ProfessorFudo “That’s true.” He looked over seeing the nurse putting up a notice to indicate that they were under restricted access now. Akiza returned with their antibiotics, Viktor’s blood and Yuusei and his antivirals. Each tray had a number of bags and syringes.

@ProfessorFudo “Looks like we all need them. Akiza is getting some antivirals for me and Yuusei as well as a change of antibiotics.” Akiza was also trying to order some blood for Viktor but they were low in supply.

@ProfessorFudo He tried to follow what she was saying. He heard that he and Yuusei had the flu virus but he was worried for the others. Yuusei’s eyes twitched as he tried to hug the blankets closer to his chest.

“Will they be alright?” Viktor asked, his body assaulting him to cramps.

@ProfessorFudo He just lay watching, it was at least distracting from the discomfort he was in, his back was sore from the surgical wounds but it wasn’t as bad as it had been previously. “What is it?” He asked her as she looked. “Is everything OK?”

@ProfessorFudo Akizas tablet pinged to show the results from the swabs. Both Yuusei’s and Viktor’s were positive, along with Viktor’s blood showing that his haemocrit was low, indicating that he had bled during his surgery and was anaemic.

@ProfessorFudo The show was an old British one about a grumpy old man, also called Victor, Viktor had found the concept amusing. “I would have loved to watch this performance. It is rather funny. Although some things I don’t really understand…this television thing is quite remarkable.”

@ProfessorFudo Akiza was waiting at the lab for some results. Yuusei’s breathing seemed to settle but he was shivering despite fever and even that was uncomfortable as the movement hurt. Viktor looked at Yakona. “I don’t get it… why does the tv show laugh?”

@ProfessorFudo Once she finished, she closed the curtain to give him a little bit of privacy and peace. She took blood from them all, Stardust was tending to Yuusei, setting up a nebuliser as he was wheezing softly, Viktor was half asleep, just staring at the TV, an old sitcom playing.

@ProfessorFudo “For these kinds of viruses this is the only way of checking them exactly.” Akiza was looking over at the vitals chart. “Your temperature is still high and your oxygen saturations are OK when you’re on oxygen. I do need to rerun all of your bloods.”

@ProfessorFudo “Sorry Hakase but we need to find out if you’ve been given this virus as well because it can cause all manner of problems. If we need to, we can give you antiviral medicine.”

Stardust was doing an observation round, checking vitals.

@ProfessorFudo Yakona the stuff to do some swabs for Hakase and Ezekiel. Jayce had left to stay at the Fudos. “I’ll have to get Jayce tested too… especially with the kids.” She went to call Yoko to warn her that Jayce would need to be quarantined.

@ProfessorFudo Enough then you’ve got me attacking you with needles and swabs.” She sighed. Viktor’s skin was paler than before, apart from his cheeks which were bright red.

“It’s fine… you have to do…what you have to.” He tried to get comfortable but the pain was distracting.

@ProfessorFudo “I’ll get some swabs done. Just to be sure as the virus can be awful for people with severe conditions or immunodeficiencies.” She got the swabs ready, running them in to Viktor’s nose and throat. He started to cough and he grumbled a little. “I’m sorry… you probably feel awful+

@ProfessorFudo “Stardust told me one of the nurses who was helping out was sick, she tested positive for the same virus which she passed to Yuusei. We need to test the others for it. Have Hakase or Ezekiel had any kind of flu symptoms? Fever, cough, lethargy, aches, that kind of thing?”

@ProfessorFudo "Its going to be a very difficult conversation to say the least." Her tablet pinged. "Yuuseis cultures came back... looks like he got a virus which lowered his defences against pseudomonas... gram negative..." She looked at what antibiotics it was sensitive to.

@ProfessorFudo "There really isn't going to be a simple fix, that's for sure. If we manage to clip the valve or repair it, the magick will continue to deteriorate things. I guess for now at least we need to firefight what we can, I'm just glad his infection has improved."

@ProfessorFudo Once she finished and withdrew the needle she made a note. "Hakases heart worries me as we may be just seeing the tip of the iceberg." She went to speak with Jayce and examined him thoroughly. "You're definitely very healthy."
