My heart bleeds, and I am deeply concerned after watching these video.

“Allahu Akbar” simply means God is the Greatest; a beautiful declaration of faith used by millions of peaceful Muslims around the world.

It is heartbreaking that terrorists have repeatedly weaponized this sacred phrase during acts of violence, distorting its meaning and creating fear where there should be reverence.

In many parts of Southern Nigeria today, hearing “Allahu Akbar” in certain situations triggers panic rather than peace. That should trouble all of us.

No sacred prayer should become associated with terror.

This is the dangerous consequence of a system that appears too weak or unwilling to decisively confront terrorism.

We must separate faith from fanaticism and hold government accountable for protecting lives.
